As we come together to mark the conclusion of Tomorrow’s Trades, we do so with deep gratitude and immense pride in what we have accomplished together.
Over the years, Tomorrow’s Trades has lived up to its mission to empower, educate, and elevate, supporting individuals as they take their first steps into Ontario’s unionized construction industry. By bridging the gap between education and apprenticeship, Tomorrow’s Trades has equipped participants with the tools, confidence, and connections to pursue meaningful careers in the skilled trades.
Together, we have helped build more than skills; we have helped build futures.
Participants have earned valuable certifications, gained hands-on experience, and been exposed to a wide range of construction careers. Many have secured apprenticeships and long-term employment, building stable, rewarding, and fulfilling careers across Ontario. These outcomes demonstrate the collective effort and shared commitment of everyone involved.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our many partners and supporters who made this work possible. Your leadership, mentorship, and investment have helped shape opportunities for the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
We also encourage those inspired to continue exploring careers in the trades to take advantage of the many free resources available. Our CTAO website offers an online platform for exploring the trades, building skills, and connecting with apprenticeship opportunities across the province.
In addition, the Ontario Building and Construction Tradeswomen (OBCT) provides critical support for building a more inclusive industry by offering mentorship, training, and a strong community network that ensures women in the trades feel supported, welcomed, and empowered to succeed.
To our training providers, union partners, instructors, and employers, thank you for sharing your expertise and opening doors.
To our stakeholders and funders, thank you for your vision and commitment to building a stronger workforce.
And to every participant, thank you for your determination, hard work, and willingness to take the first step toward a career in the skilled trades.
While Tomorrow’s Trades may be ending, its legacy will endure in the lives and careers it has helped shape. The impact will be felt for years to come, in job sites, in communities, and across Ontario’s construction industry.
And finally, Rick, our Program Coordinator. You guided this program, mentored our participants, and held us all accountable. Thank you! Without your dedication and vision, this project wouldn’t have had the successes it’s had – You’re truly one for the books!
