A General Carpenter constructs, renovates and repairs structures made of wood, steel, concrete and other materials in the residential, commercial and industrial construction sectors and in related industries.

7200 hours of on-the-job training, supplemented by three 8-week sessions of in-class technical training.
Responsibilities
Establish building procedures and prepares work sites
Lay out, constructs and installs formwork and concrete foundations
Frame floors, walls, ceilings and roofs
Finish interiors and exteriors
Constructs heavy framing
Build stairs, posts and handrails
Lay out, constructs and installs door and window systems
Perform renovations
Entrance Requirements
Grade 12 Diploma preferred (Grade 10 minimum)
Journeyperson Wage Rate:
$46.22/Hr (2022)
