Plumbers install, repair and maintain pipes, fixtures and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution and waste water disposal in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

9000 hours of on-the-job training, supplemented by three 8-week sessions of in-class technical training.
Responsibilities
Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing systems
Mark positions for pipe connections and fixtures in walls and floors
Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
Measure, cut, bend and install pipes using hand and power tools
Join pipes using clamps, screws, bolts or cement
Weld pipes
Test pipes for leaks
Prepare cost estimates
Read & interpreting blueprints
Entrance Requirements
Grade 12 Diploma preferred
Math & English at a Grade 12 Level
Journeyperson Wage Rate:
$58.90/Hr (2022)
